The Embassy of Belgium in Helsinki represents and promotes Belgium’s interests across many subject areas in both Finland and Estonia, reports back to the foreign ministry in Brussels on Finnish and Estonian policies as well as provides consular services to Belgian citizens. Belgium being a federal state, the embassy also operates in cooperation with representations of the regions.
In terms of commercial interests, the Embassy facilitates visits of delegations from companies and public institutions in collaboration with the regional trade representations: Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT), Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX), and hub.brussels, the trade agency for the Brussels-Capital region.
The Embassy is currently headed by Ambassador Alexis de Crombrugghe, who started in the position in September 2021.
