We celebrated Finland’s 106th Independence Day by coming together with a group of our members, business influencers, ecosystem representatives, and friends – both Finnish as well as various other nationalities.
The event was held at the prestigious venue of Bernard-Massard in Grevenmacher, with a few speeches and a dinner in the form of a carousel, which allowed the guests to get to know everyone in the room.
The evening was opened by the speech of Jouko Leinonen, the Ambassador at the Embassy of Finland to Belgium and Luxembourg, highlighting the increasing importance of international collaboration in the current political and economic situation.
The theme of our event was indeed the international collaboration and perspectives on Finland’s NATO membership and insights into the defense sector at broad.
In this context, particularly from the business perspective, the program was planned to showcase the broadness of the defense sector, commercial aspects, and links to international innovation collaboration & funding.
The speeches were led by the fantastic Alexander Link of Luxinnovation GIE, Piia Kupari of SES Satellites, Stephan Heirbrant of GovSat, and Marco Marques of Gradel.
These experts shared valuable insights into their organisations and meaningful projects and initiatives – and also very practical examples of relevant connections between Luxembourg and Finland within this sector.
The speeches were heard in between the dinner courses and sparked buzzing conversations amongst the audience.
The evening was all in all very inspiring and built many new great connections.
