Finland’s Independence Day Dinner in Luxembourg 3.12.2024

Finland’s Independence Day Dinner in Luxembourg 3.12.2024 🥂
organised by Finland Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg together with Embassy of Finland to Belgium and Luxembourg.

The dinner was organised in the honour of Finland’s National Day, which is officially celebrated on the 6th of December.

This dinner was celebrating also the good relations between Finland and Luxembourg, and combining business perspectives amongst a fantastic group of Finns living in Luxembourg as well as Luxembourgish and international guests with professional or personal links to Finland.

The concept of the event was to hear inspiring speeches around one topic – this year, hashtag#energy – one by each meal, while the guests circulate between tables in the “carousel style”, each course enjoyed in new company.

The format was proven successful already last year and it worked like magic this time as well ✨ – it sparked buzzing conversations throughout the venue, with nearly 50 professionals across various sectors and different backgrounds, were mixed in different combinations. What a brilliant way for networking and all the guests enjoyed this concept!

The evening started by the “Finlandia” hymn that was performed to us by Tuulia Pasanen-Klaine – followed by welcome speech of Irene Mäkelä-Brunnekreef Co-Founder & Chairwoman of FinChamLux and opening words by Jouko Leinonen, The Ambassador of Finland to Belgium and Luxembourg.

The theme of the evening was covered with three different perspectives:

  • Ludivine Piezanowski, Head of Department for Hydrogen Technology at Paul Wurth S.A. (LU) and Board Member at Norsk e-Fuel with
”Nordic Hydrogen production to drive the transition to renewable aviation”, introducing very interesting Sustainable Aviation Fuel projects planned to be established in hashtag#Finland
  • Jussi Korhonen, Manager at Taaleri Energia – major Finnish investment company with a unit dedicated to energy investments and an office in Luxembourg, explaining how the company is ”Leading investments in solar, wind and battery assets across Europe”.
  • Pablo Calla Galleguillos, CTO and Co-Founder of Maana Electric (LU) who provided thought-provoking perspectives on future technologies with his speech on “Discovering space innovations to improve sustainability on Earth” and shed light to interesting collaboration projects with Finland.

Many thanks to Meliá Hotels International hashtag#Luxembourg for providing the beautiful venue and excellent service and to all guests and spekers who made the event a success!
